108 kgs
Waist down a quarter of an inch - 49.75 inches
My stomach is changing. It has become very soft and fatty. Previously it was solid to the touch.
My current goal is to get to 106kgs. Then I will be the same as I was at January.

When I was diagnosed with typed 2 diabetes Hercules I weighed 84 kilos within eight weeks I lost a lot the cutting down on carbs in tandem with physical exercise and was down to 70 kilos.
In the last several month I am now 77 kilos.
I thought in the first instance it was reachable without much effort.... I was wrong, it is a constant battle.. if one wants to achieve their ideal weight and stay there!

Interesting, I have tried carb dieting before but couldn't stick at it and yo-yo'd I think maybe just reducing your total calories is better. Mind you at your weight of roughly 80kgs - your total caloric intake to lose weight is a very low number and hard to achieve Cheers My new weigh in day is tomorrow.

I welcome your response Hercules... I accept not everyone wants or desires a low carb diet, but for those of us who have diabetes, a low carb diet is essential.
Something I learned as a result of tuition is that all carbs metabolise into sugar... not good for folk like me, with such a diagnosis.
Even those who haven't got diabetes, such sugar converting leads to weight gain. I therefore suggest you give it another try... knowing the more carb intake, is not helping your desire to reduce weight!

Hi david
Carb diets are new from an academic perspective
As a result there is no study that shows the weight stays off.
Plenty of studies focusing on total calories per day works
Yesterday was weigh in day
I am a touch over 107 kgs which is down a kg from last week
Waist is down to 49 inches which is down 0.5 of an inch

I agree but I wasn't referring to total weight loss more to those like myself that have been diagnosed with diabetes.
Nevertheless a low carb diet whether which means less sugar in one's blood stream must be translated as less calories we have onboard.
If you are in denial of what I say on this subject that is for you, not me, to deal with.
Wishing you well in that regard.

One thing further, Hercules, if you continue to down the road of thinking a low carb is not a priority in your weight loss project...
Do not be surprised, if you are not diagnosed at some point with diabetes.
Even though I sincerely hope, that not be the case...
I say what I do here for Type Two diabetes , more often than not becomes a realty to those in middle age who are over considerably weight.

In simple terms losing weight is about spending, as far as possible as many excess calories as one consumes.
Not unlike becoming carbon neutral when it comes to green house gases when we think about saving the planet.
A good analogy I think... the only difference is saving our personal selves from obesity: whereas carbon emissions left unchecked, will eventually destroy our planet.

Weight up to 109kgs this week and I don't know why. Waist still 49 inches. I did work out with weights this week so maybe 1kg of it could be new muscle. Confused - frustrated and upset with this backwards development.

Keep up your determination to succeed Hercules
I think not to do so , your weight, I suggest would spiral further in an upward direction.
You may not have made a major achievement , statically speaking ...
Nevertheless , you are not compounding your weight gain in
incremental stages, which is often what happens, as a result
of ' comfort' indulging, when we lose heart.
Continue, to remain diligent, in order to stay (reasonably) healthy is my considered opinion.
