The brother I never thought I would ever meet... has just happened several days ago by subscribing to a site called my heritage, which helps you build a family tree.
We came into personal contact, less than two weeks ago.
He is called Alan. aged 66 and I, now in my 76th year. but as the saying goes better late than never.

Further to my first post, he has been brought up as a youngster here in the UK and his adoptive family took him to live in Australia namely Adelaide and then onto New Zealand a place called Napier.
And then back here to Wiltshire concluding in Cornwall.

It should go without saying,
but I am going to say it anyway,
I am thrilled by such a find... What is more, although I suspected possibly different Fathers but DNA results have proven we have the same joint parentage... which further adds to my delight!

PS., As time goes by, as we get to become acquainted further...
I will provide updates, as to further progress or (heaven forbid), the lack of same.
For lets face it, after almost a life time apart, who knows where this will go in terms of compatibility?

PPS., Sorry, I am going on a bit, but then i am so excited and feel the need to off load, and I cannot think of a better place than our community to do this.
Unlike me he is heterosexual and has a wife and family.
He trained as a carpenter became redundant, got a job for a undertaker, producing coffins, later retrained as an embalmer, and concluded before retiring as a fully fledged funeral director.

I only hope when we do meet up in person, after this Covid ordeal
He is not carrying a tape measure around his neck , looking to come out of retirement as a former undertaker! lol

By the way his name is Alan, his wife is called Susan and he has a son named Alex
and they are located in the south west of England and I in the North east.
And we literally only came into contact for the very first time on February 5, 2021
less than three weeks ago as I speak.

You may well wonder how that can be... Brothers not having knowledge of each other timeline wise.
The simple answer is I, like him were brought up in the care of others, not our biological parents... as a result of a dysfunctional family setting, when we were born.
Hence such segregation so early on in our lives... we never knew of one an others existence at that time and for many years to come!

What further complicated our lives was the fact our mother never married and our father who was Danish was a sea farer, and as a result of his sea missions consolidated such pregnancies, not once but twice with the same mother to be.

All is going well since are first introduction on February 5th.
We have discussed many things, pertinent to our existence and the many years we have spent apart. Although never to together in the first place, hopefully that makes sense, to some degree in your understanding of same.
If not, please reply with any question you would like to ask, if you are interested, in order to clarify where I am coming from, in terms of our sixty six years apart.

During my seventy five years of life,
I have never went out of my way to be economical with the truth to anyone, I have interacted with .. save for when I was a boy, when it was diplomatic to do so, to spare myself from punishment .
As an adult I began, (over time) to realise such untruths, were superfluous to the real me, and abandoned same with equal amounts of caution and relish, relish won!

PS., I have long believed that every one of us, has a potential dark side... let us be realistic here, no human being is perfect. Anyone who thinks differently, with respect consider such folk as delusional in thought, if not in practise!

Hence the reason, I endorse the statement.. 'Tell the truth and shame the devil'.
For I maintain the devil is within all of us... to varying degrees...
Whether, we are reluctant to admit it or not, is up to the individual to accept or reject., hinging on their comfortability with being truthful or being economical with same, leading to deceit, in any shape or form.
Which eventually complicates our relationship with others, friends or foe alike, makes no difference.
