Thank you also for your kind acknowledgement Michelle.
On February the fifth I took advantage of a free trial on myheritage.com and with an hour I made such a stupendous find.
Beginners luck it might be said... but not really... for I have been trying to locate him off and on for decades!

PS., What hampered my search was due to the fact that when he was adopted his surname changed as a result.
This I was unaware of until three weeks ago!

Tomorrow I will have a first ever face to face video call with the nephew I only found out existed when I found his dad (my brother), on February 5 a little over three weeks ago, again a first time connection. Sixty six years after he was born. His son Alex is twenty six and living with his girl friend.
I can't wait, to speak to him.
Lets face it, it is rare to find relatives, first time around, when you are a septuagenarian.

I was excited and equally apphrensive in equal measure. however, such anxiety was soon resolved as a result for we had.
what I can only describe as a positive discussion, throughout,
it turned out to be what I can only describe as marathon discussion,
in that it lasted for two hours thirteen minutes.. far longer than I anticipated. I hasten to add but most welcome, never the less.

That is great David!! Did I ever mention here on the site that about 15 years ago I was just playing around in my pc and searching various family members name on google. Well when I searched my grandma's name for some odd reason I tried her maiden name as well and the search results popped up. The first site that came up was an adoption website of people trying to find thier families. Well my grandma's maiden name came up and I read the post that totally fit that this was my grandma and the lady posting was a child she had that no one ever knew about. We messaged in the site and then she gave me her number. It was true! She met other family members in person and they still would not tell us About her because they were afraid of my great grandmother. Back then having an illigitamite child was a taboo. They sent her off to a unwed mothers home and made her put the baby up for adoption and the family was told to never talk about it. She was my mom's only sister. Different fathers though. My mom did get to meet her and they talked all the time on the phone after I found her. My mom has since passed away but me And my long lost aunt talk regularly. We are quite close. It's funny how things work out. I'm so glad that you too are enjoying the excitement of finding long lost loved ones.

Hi David, I had a covid scare as I was exposed heavily at work but I had 2 masks on and I'm a excessive hand washer these days. I was tested 4 times during the 14 days and all negative. My whole grandkids household has it at the moment. All are sick but not enough for hospital.i been checking in daily to thier status. Safe and sound though yes.

Yes which certainly proves that masks do work. I sat right next to the man for 8 hours and he was coughing and blowing his nose. He was not wearing a mask. I had the 2 on. I kindly asked him if he would please put one on and he said no I have been wearing one all week and I'm not putting one on. I then asked, have you been covid tested and he answered yes and I'm negative. Well some kind of argument between him and the supervisor took place over him not sending the result over to him. The next morning the supervisor called to tell me he finally sent him the result and he was positive. The exposure I had just baffles me that I was ok. I did get sick but must have been my sinus because I was negative for all those covid tests. God is good.
To anyone reading....stay masked up because they do help.
