Mass immunisation against coronavirus will begin next week,
Boris Johnson announced as he moved to defuse a diplomatic row
over claims that Brexit was responsible for the fast-track approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

PS., The prime minister said hopes of normal life returning in the spring
had given way to “sure and certain knowledge that we will succeed” after Britain
became the first country in the western world to approve a Covid vaccine.

I trust your country will soon get approval for such a role out!

Good news indeed you might say... but only if the vast majority of us become participants, (in the inoculation process) to provide herd immunity. Otherwise we will fail in our quest to become Covid free in not only our local community but in the world as a whole.

Hi David. It sounds like they could be rolling out a vaccine here in the US by mid-December...but, will they?! Although it would be nice to return to some semblance of normal, I think this pandemic will have some long lasting, life changing effects for a long time to come. Or at least I hope so.

Here in the UK we were scheduled to commence the roll out of the Covid vaccine next week. However, I am pleased to say that it has been brought forward and either today, tomorrow, (depending on your time zone) the distribution will begin.
It will be prioritised first for the over eighties and then incrementally move down the age range.

PS., So far so good, my main concern is... that most folk will agree to be inoculated.
That goes not only for my country but the, world population for half measures, will prove ineffective, and we'll be back to square one.
Lets hope that not be the case!

Will your front line (healthcare workers, grocery store workers, emt’s, police, firefighters, etc...) workers be high up in the list? On Facebook, there is a Nurses group that I follow, and I am quite surprised that many said they don’t want the first round of the vaccine. They want to wait and see if there are any side effects, or other problems with it. As far As I can ascertain they are to be given priority Leigh

Hello David,
I have a question, was the vaccine developed in the UK? Most people I talk to are afraid to take it here because our current president is taking credit for the vaccine and are afraid. If he's lying and it was developed in the UK I think more people would be willing to try it. I understand that it is a series of 2 shots? At least that is what I have read. I wonder if you have to keep getting this shot every year like the flu shot.

No, as far as I'm aware , it was developed in Belgium from where it has been shipped to the UK.

Oh ok David, belgium! You know he's taking credit for this even though pfitzer has said that they are not in politics and that it had nothing to do with him. He actually came on and said they lied. People are afraid to take it because he claims the credit and because it came out so fast and no long term studies but I have a feeling, not sure as it has not been said but I bet they will mandate it in order to go to work. He ordered only so many vaccines and he turned them down for more so they promised them to other countries. Now other than what he ordered there will be no more for us until June. Go figure. Thank you for the links.

Yes, Trump is taking the credit for the Pfizer vaccine which was developed in the European union... not the USA.
