I've wondered why if humans evolved from primates why there are still primates left why didn't they too evolve. Also, I've wondered why if we evolved from primates they are so much more physically superior to us they can use their feet and tail as hands, they are so agile, strong and athletic. You would think that humans would have at least adapted better to their environments if a monkey gets hungry it can just climb up a tree with ease and grab a banana a human has to strive all their life for life tickets(money) build houses and transportation etc. Even the most flexible person couldn't compete with the gymnasts of the jungle the worlds strongest man could be crushed by the worlds weakest gorilla. so maybe we evolved mentally but it's not like everybody can just build a house or a railroad like a bird can build a nest on instinct or fly south. Animals seem to get less diseases than humans, I've read that primates can be carriers of diseases that would kill humans. Maybe humans need to be more intelligent just to learn how to survive they require intelligence animals do not.
I've read that it's possible a human could be a cross between a monkey and a pig.

Hi, Mike and Keith
I would rather look the evolution as a way of thinking than a theory. There are may ways of thinking about the origin of species. The church think that the GOD creat the world. The science community think that the big bang creat the cosmos and human being.
Neither of the ways of thinking is perfect. The ways of thinking can be improved by new research and new discoveries. Actually, I even don't think Newton's theory of gravity is perfect. It can not explain the phenomenon of strange slope in Shenyang, China.

Mainly, You have to accelerate your car to go down the slope and your car can go up the slope automatically without turning the power on.

That makes sense Keith. I think it would be awesome though if we could grab with our feet like the other primates. I think what should have evolved more in humans is our immune system if we changed our environment we should have gotten stronger internally if we didn't need to be physically strong so much I mean before the invention of penicillin people we're dying from infections, mosquito bites, flea bites and not knowing the cause. I wonder if monkeys ever died in the kind of numbers humans have from disease or do they have stronger immune systems, stronger resistance to germs/bacteria etc. I think in the 1800's I'd be around my life expectancy age(33) but since they didn't have penicillin I don't think I'd have made it to adulthood. Maybe humans weren't meant to survive in large numbers just any number, I read the flu after ww1 killed more people than ww1.
I think if I never heard of evolution of monkeys to humans and it was all my thinking and I was asked what did we evolve from I'd guess humans evolved from pigs like you say about the greed, selfishness and nastiness humanity is capable of.
I think it was George Orwell who compared humans to pigs most, Hey Keith have you ever read "Animal Farm"? I haven't but it was suggested to me and I was just wondering your opinion. I know your a fan of two of my favourite authors Aldous Huxley and Jim Morrison.

IN April, 1990, the discovery of the Strange Slope in Shenyang, Liaoning Province drew attention worldwide. Its fame continues to spread as visitors from home and abroad flock to see this rare sight.
Strange Slope is located 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the northeastern portion of Shenyang. It descends eastwards from its western peak, occupying an area of nine sq kilometers (5.6 sq miles). It is 80 meters (262.5 feet) long and 15 meters (49.2 feet) wide. Its uniqueness lies in its apparent violation of gravity. If a car stops at the foot of the slop, it will run to the top of the slop without any difficulty. The contrary occurs when cars attempt to drift downwards. Experts and scholars have attempted to discern the mystery of it. Commonly scholars attribute this phenomenon to magnetic fields and optical illusions. Owing to the lack of evidence for a solid explanation, Strange Slope is still regarded as a mystery.
Today, the Slope lies at the heart of the Strange Slope Scenic Area, which also features a number of other natural attractions, including those which comprise the area's well-known 'Three Mysteries' and 'Five Great Mountains'.
Xiangshan is located on a hillside 100 meters (328 feet) away from the Strange Slope. Here, when one stomps on the hillside, he/she hears a loud sound resonating from the earth below. Its name, Xiangshan, means a hill which produces a heavy sound. Wongding is another hilltop located close by. Similarly, its name (pronounced 'wong') describes the sound which results from a wooden hammer or a stone hitting the ground. Together with the Strange Slope, these sights comprise the 'Three Mysteries' of the scenic area.
The area surrounding the Strange Slope Scenic Area is lush and mountainous. Yunmaoshan Mountain is tranquil yet prominent with its lofty peak remaining veiled by clouds year-round. Wolongshan Mountain winds up and down like a crouching dragon with valleys on its foot covered with Chinese scholartrees. Every year during May and June, petals whirl around covering the whole valley with a snowy guise. Guibeishan Mountain, which looks like three tortoises floating in the water, together with other two mountains, Changkongshan Mountain and Dagushan Mountain, make up the famous 'Five Great Mountains' of the Scenic Area.
There are many other attractions around the Strange Slope such as enchanting lakes and a fresh spring, Xiamei Spring. There is a labyrinth between the Strange Slope and Xiangshan, as well as a path with 518 steep steps. The view from atop the steps is fully worthwhile; here visitors can view a panorama of the scenic area as well as the nearby Wolong Temple.

If you stop a car at the foot of this slope, you will be surprised to find that the car will roll up to the top of the slope without any outside force. If you ride a bike, you will deeply sense the uniqueness of this slope. The bike will quickly slip to the top without pedaling, while you have to ride hard to get from the top to the bottom of the slope.

Can't forget to post my favourite music video, just happens it's about evolution. Do the evolution By: Pearl Jam www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDaOgu2CQtII wonder how many more films they made like Caligula with Malcolm McDowell, have you seen that one Keith? My favourite episode of Star Trek TNG(I think it has 2 parts) is the one with Q where he takes over the ship and puts humanity on trial for being a greedy savage lot with his magic. Picard pleading we've changed we've changed that was us before but not anymore It was so long ago I forget a lot of it, would like to see it again.
