When I was a middle school student, I had a pair oif pigeon as my pet. They were lovey and flew around my house.I fed them with corn and they laid eggs and the eggs could be hatched.
Actually, I had many little animals as my pet such as a dog or a cat or some rabbits or some fishes or some crickets. I bought a little dog this January when I travelled to another city nearby. My son was fond of it. I was afraid of that my son could be infected with illness by the dog. So I sold it last month.
Also, I heard of that a child could be infected with illness by cat. I doubt that my mentally illness is the case. because I had a cat as my pet when I was about 10 years old.

Thank you for sharing this Walter.. I love all animals and yes I've had pigeons, cats and dogs, rabbits and a guinea pig. In fact I also had a snake at one time.
Now I only have a cat a stray that I took in five years ago, a part from food and shelter like most felines he is very independent.
I some times wish I had a GPS system around his neck so that I could monitor his journeys for I would love to follow his movement and how far he travelled.

Thank yon David for sharing your experience of your pets.
I love countryside life because I can have a free life in country side. In cities, I have to face a lot of concrete.

Your right Walter... not if they are vaccinated.
Of course that is up to the owner, a responsible person that is.

David
My family and I are doing ok. Thank you for your concern.
I think when I am old, I will have a dog as my pet and I have to let it vaccinated.

chelle
I have heard of the toxoplasmosis can causr SZ too. I did have a cat as my pet when I was about ten years old. I think it is a kind of hypothesis and it needs clear evidence to prove it.
