What are the effects of social isolation?
Can it damage a person? If so, how and what?
What is the impact it can affect the person's family and friends?
Can it create fear of other people?

When I feel isolated...I go to a bar and socialize. I seldom feel the need to do that but I'll go there anyway because I like a good buzz. If you don't feel isolated...don't sweat it. I enjoy my seclusion and distance from humanity...I'm not a big fan. Don't fear meeting new people but beware of total strangers without references. Do you like your privacy and seclusion? If not...act.

Loneliness can have a profound affect on our mental well being,
and must if at all possible be dealt with effectively.
Easier said than done you might say.
When it affected me I sort counselling and as a result of same
eventually got over such a personal ordeal... by circulating more,
making friends along the way.
However, we all have a different psychological make up and it takes different
moves for each individual who is experiencing same to combat.
I hope you can find a way forward however that is unlikely to happen if we continue to be fixated on one particular person for our personal happiness.
Just my opinion, ( as ever,) Becky!

I have mixed emotions. On one hand I do like to be by myself but on the other hand I am missing my bandmates like crazy. I miss playing with them. Other then that I don't have anyone else in my life worth missing. I know that sounds cynical but it is what it is.

It's 4:57 am and I am awake because of a migraine is starting to manifest itself. I have noticed that my migraines have skyrocketed in numbers since this pandemic started. Just feeling so frustrated over this entire health situation. 20 years of this is more then one can bear. On Wednesday I had such a painful migraine that I just wanted to jump off a bridge and end this pain. If you have never experienced a migraine before then you really have no conception of the pain that I experience. It's a living nightmare and getting worse.

Hi Beccy
If you have been in a position to read the more recent posts
within this thread of yours..
I have come to the conclusion that maybe you are done here.
I possibly would have reached a similar conclusion before now,
had it not been for the fact that I continue to have a certain camaraderie
with those I get on with.
It appears the same does not apply to you, and for that I am saddened .
Here's wishing you all the very best, in whatever you are undertaking
now or in the future!
