I got banned from a pawnshop and made the pawnbroker very angry at me for making a higher offer on silver coins to the customer than the pawnbroker made. I just met the guy outside and we made our deal. They are all mostly just common Canadian silver coins 1967 and before but worth a good amount more than I paid, considering enough are from pre 1952 and the condition of some especially I can't believe that pawnbroker just let him walk out, their so cheap. I got lucky in the past buying a big binder full of silver coins with a $500 investment if even among them wasn't the rare 1948 Canadian silver dollar I sold to a collector for $1600. They may have been stolen, I don't know. I thought though at the time it's pretty hard to trace coins they don't have serial numbers like bills. I used to also be into collecting scrap junk me and a friend loading up his truck old appliances and whatnot going down to the scrap yard. I don't see that guy anymore though he moved we had some good times. I think it was Fred Sanford who said, "The future is junk" lol I was thinking of seeing about renting a table at a flea market and offering to buy silver at scrap price, I have a little money to invest but I gotta look into it. Anybody have any advice, know anything about buying/selling precious metals? Rainbow -Man on the silver mountain www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9nfVrusSMg

Sorry Mike,
I know nothing about coins but wanted to stop in and mention that Richie Blackmores rainbow- man on a silver mountain was a big hit when I was a teenager.

You know any other songs about silver?
"Silver bells, silver bells, it's Christmas time in the city."
I'm not just interested in coins but silver in general, silverware, chains/rings, candle holders etc. I always see these ads "we buy your scrap silver and gold" and I wanna try to get in on it because they can buy it so low in price.

I wonder what you could buy in England in those Victorian days with a crown/5 shillings. I've got some British silver coins too.

Does anybody else find that hilarious? just picture being in a pawnshop and your looking around and some guy comes in with something you'd like to buy and your eyeing it up and he's trying to sell it and not liking what he's being offered and the pawnbrokers trying to let the person be ripped off as much as he can be and you come across interrupt and offer a higher price and instead of the pawnbroker overbidding you at a low price anyway he gets infuriated at you, his face starts going red and he kicks you out and yells at you to never come back and the customer follows you outside and you buy his stuff for less than a third what it's worth anyway.
If nobody else finds that funny maybe I've just a different kind of sense of humour or you would have had to be there.
I never liked pawnshops or those kinda crooks I might buy something if they have anything any good but I'd never sell them anything unless I really didn't want it and it wasn't worth much. It's like they aren't happy to double or even triple their money often they wanna make a killing or it isn't worth their time, if they had their way you'd just go in there with something put it on the counter and just give it to them. I've thought about doing something some time for an experiment like next time I buy a new tv or whatever just leave it in the box go from the store I bought it directly to the pawnshop just to see what kind of lousy deal they'd offer me and reject it walk out and have a laugh about it 'cause that's the kinda guy I am lol.
I remember 15 years ago or more they'd give you a dollar or two maybe for a cd that cost twenty to buy new they'd sell it for 8 or so and they'd give you five bucks for a video game that costs 60 to buy new. I'd think like the only person who would take such an offer must have stolen it, had it given to them and they didn't want it or they were really desperate.
I watch that show Pawnstars sometimes and their so cheap sometimes not as much as pawnshops around here maybe but the guy goes on about paying his overhead and I'd think like fine double your money that should cover it and if you think it would take a while to sell try ebay I would myself but it's hard to start an account with only a few things to sell you know someone with a business could easily sell things especially a guy who owns a pawnshop and is on tv everybody would trust him.
