I wish you could experience America Walter. We can believe anything, and worship anything...as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else's beliefs. We take our freedom for granted til someone threatens to take it away. We're not used to that threat coming from the inside and the response has been slow in coming from supposedly responsible people. Freedom is very difficult to gain but rather easy to lose...if you're not careful. BLAME ME I VOTED FOR TRUMP--YOU KNOW WHY?IM EVEEEEL! Yeah probably, but you're the devil I know as opposed to the one I don't...and he is nuts.  |

My government is cracking down the corruption nowadays. People in China have the freedom to believe or not to believe any religions. I work for my government and I know of it well.

I say that for it is endemic across the western world.

I'm ok and thank you for your concern. After Xi Jinping came into power, the Chinese central government is paying more attention on cracking down corruption.

I work for my government and I know of it well.  , we've gone way over the top...trials for this are beginning. We have a free press...I was just wondering what you might have heard. We all work for our governments...one way or the other. At this time, I see my government as the Robert Mueller  probe working with the Democratic Party in congress attempting to jail Trump, his family, and the mob who work for them. Bob Mueller is an old time conservative Republican whose values I respect. I see the modern Republican Party as treasonous. Apparently, so does he. My government is doing what it should to combat corruption and suppression of people...everywhere.
We've removed the head of state before.  Richard Nixon was a good guy compared to Trump. The next few weeks will be explosive...keep your head down. |

I take no satisfaction in being right Walter...I wish I were wrong. There's no point in freaking out about it...many of us will adapt, that's our primal trait as a species. The powers that be don't care if half the world perishes...they'll be warm and safe in their bunkers.

I wish too that I could be a bit more optimistic. I am having a bad day with family...and it's Christmas. This Trump thing is rupturing friendships and family relationships. The Russians were very effective in their cyber attacks on our election. We are undergoing a wrenching experience while our FBI educates us regarding the dangers facing us. The drama going on in our capitol will get much more intense shortly.
In Christianity, Revelations says Jesus will return when everything seems hopeless and we are all about to die. It's a very comforting thought to those who believe. Again, I wish I could be more optimistic, but history has a bad track record for messiahs...they don't show up.

We had a pleasant Christmas eve after returning from Milwaukee and our extended family. The three grandsons and my twin sons joined my wife and I to celebrate. The children are all exited about the gifts waiting for them in the morning. We no longer erect and decorate a tree cut from our forest...too much trouble and not enough room. Instead, we decorate the plants we take in during winter and string lights within them.  We try hard to maintain some traditions so the kids feel continuity from one generation to another. I look into their clear and trusting eyes and feel a strong compulsion to protect them from the insanity afoot. I feel the same way about you guys here. Merry Christmas Walter. |

You have a Happy family and extended family. You are fortunately compared to Paul who is a member here.I hope I can have some grandsons as you do when I am as old as you are now. We will celebrate Spring festival and the year of pig in about 40 days.
