Anyone interested in joining a Goal of the Month club?
The year I completed the most resolutions or goals, was the year I broke them down
into one goal/resolution a month. They say it takes 3-4 weeks to develop a new habit,
so this seems appropriate. So, if anyone has goals they want to accomplish, perhaps
you want to join in the fun.
My goal for August is to hand write 3 letters per week, to friends and family.
My first 3 letters will be to:
1) get well card and note to friend who broke her arm
2) overdue letter to my brother
3) fun card with note to friend who inspires this goal
my check-in date to evaluate progress of this goal is August 7, 2018.
Anyone else?

Sure...my goal for August is to stay on top of my garden's productivity. That means not only normal care but plucking ripe produce every day. Wandering in and around the 10-12 foot vines from my squash, cantaloupe, pumpkins, and watermelons seeking hidden treasures can be taxing...especially in the afternoon heat. They aren't anywhere near maturity but I like to slip a few twigs under the young fruit to keep it off the ground and excess moisture that can cause rot. The tomatoes and peppers are pouring in and we've already begun freezing them. Meanwhile, the pool must be kept up and my morning duties include skimming and filtering the water. Our sand filter died and I replaced it with a more compact and effective system. The only drawback is it's labor intensive for about one hour as I continuously skim and spray clean the cylindrical filters that fill up quickly removing the small debris and algae. I'll supply some pics to demonstrate the process...and the garden stuff.
I like writing letters. My cousin and I exchanged letters for 20 years till she grew ill and writing became difficult for her. We still do phone calls occasionally. Good luck with yours.

I will set a goal of buying us some web traffic by the end of August
It will take a bit of effort for me as in an afternoon
So hence I will make it a goal so that it comes to pass
I want to be sure to be clear
I don’t expect any new members but i am sure something will transpire from it that will give us an adventure.

Okay, so last month's goal didn't go so well. I only wrote one, yes ONE letter the whole month, and IT
is still in the back pocket of my wheelchair. So...on to this month...
This month's project is '31 days of Self Love' which I plan to post each day here, so you can all love
yourselves as well.
For me, this is something I continue to need to work on. I imagine I have had problems
loving (and sometimes liking) myself ever since I was bullied in grade school. And then depression from 5th
grade on continued to make it hard to like/love myself. When I first joined MT in 2009, my user name was
FLMgirl. It was based on the FlyLady, Marla Cilley. FLY meaning Finally Loving Yourself and the premise was
that you finally love yourself enough to take care of your house and self. I figured my use of it was finally liking
myself, and working on the love part. And, I am still working on it.
So, join me if you want. It will be a test, just to see if I get here 31 days in a row. You will find each day
on its' own thread so they will be easier to find and participate on.

Hi flame I have been thinking about the logistics of up to 31 new threads in the general discussion forum at the same time. With your permission after each thread has been posted for a few days I will add an anchor icon to it This will help it to fall down the order so that your newer threads are at the top and get the visibility you need. I imagine this will be hard to conceptualise but let me know if any concerns Cheers Edit another option is that we could make a new sub forum just for these threads. It could be either public or private as you prefer. I am just riffing ideas here. I am very excited about you doing this and I think it will add great value to the site |

Your ideas sound good, and I am open to whatever you think is best. I wanted to make them
separate threads to start with, so late comers don't get all mixed in answering #1 way back
where #20 is, if you know what I mean. But, it does seem like it could end up a jumbly mess
as well.
I am good with it remaining public, as my original thought was that it might entice peeps to join
the site and start their own journey to loving themselves. Though again, I am open to your opinion
on this also. Thank you my friend! |

My recommendation is that we make it permanent content
If we put in general it will slip off the first page quite quickly
When I get home I will create a new public sub forum for it
