So, the Big 3 are the 3 things I/we really should get done today.
And then, because we can use the reply with a quote here, I/we can follow-up on what gets done. Maybe this will help me focus on what I need to do.
Today (July 23, 2018) To Do: 1) Laundry 2) Clean out the litter box 3) Get the Mail

Sounds like you have a relatively easy day Leigh. I myself, have one grueling chore to perform...to clean out under our deck which has become the stash for every weird piece of junk I can't quite bring myself to throw away. Beyond that, there's the plant watering and pool maintenance but those are "givens", ah well...good exercise. Hope the day goes well for you.

PS., I got to thinking, (several days later), did you achieve your goal Leigh ? Funny you should ask David. No, I did not get them done on Monday, except getting the mail. Tuesday, I did some laundry, and that evening, I cleaned the cat box. Oh well. Today is another day in another week to try again.
Today's big 3? 1) Laundry 2) find, pay, and mail an overdue bill 3) trash out 4) change/clean cat box
You know, in 2009 when I joined MT, every chore was hard because of my depression. Lately, my depression is back (full force in the past 4-6 weeks) and so again, I lack motivation, discip- line, and continue to procrastinate. Issues with my leg continues to make all chores physically difficult, and my stamina and endurance is greatly challenged. So, I have to rest a lot.
But, as I said above, it is a new day, and a new week. And there is an added motivation, in that my best friend (K), her daughter, and her son's dog (Satch) are coming to visit Friday. Satch is a beautiful long hair dachshund, and I just adore him. So, that should help me this week.
Thanks for asking David. Have yourself a lovely day, and week!

So, my big 3-4 for Monday were: 1) Laundry
2) find, pay, and mail an overdue bill
3) trash out
4) change/clean cat box
Well...2 out of 4 is better than ) out of 4. Cleaned the cat box, and took out the trash. And wrote the check for the bill.
So, my big 3+ for Tuesday: 1) LAUNDRY 2) Dishes 3) Discuss lease, and sign it 4) call SS office
Wish me luck!

Good luck Leigh
A few comments
Maybe tie the butterfly effect thread together with big three
If you can finish all three things in a day then perhaps observe the resultant butterfly effect of that.
Use it as motivation to fight the procrastination
The other saying I say to myself when my negative symptoms make it hard to motivate myself to do something simple like washing the dishes or emptying the dryer and putting away the clothes....is one sentence from the book the road less travelled by scott m peck
The first sentence of the book is a masterpiece unto itself. Three words then a period
Life is hard.
Life is hard and when I tell myself this I find a little bit of energy to fight against my invisible force field holding me back.
Cheers

Hi Hercules! So, I had let my dirty dishes pile up from last week. Meaning, that there was a good amount to do. Although I didn’t really want to do them, I made myself get up and do 75% of them, took a break, fathered the rest of them, and finished them. Afterwards, I felt very good about myself, making me feel accomplished.
You are right Hercules, life is hard.

Keep on telling yourself life is hard Somehow it make life a bit more manageable once you recognise it is hard

Very bored and depressed. Stayed in bed most of the day. I wish a snow storm would and drop 5 feet of snow and then I could rid of how I feel. For now I am in my safe place away from all the annoying ppl in my family.
Just a crappy day all around.
