Hi all,
I was wondering if you have caring friends that call you up and ask how you are doing? Because our friends may be aware of our psychiatric problems, they should care more about us. But I find that there are few people who will just call you up out of the blue and ask how your are doing.
I only have one friend who calls me up regularly. But she has too much time on her hands and I give her support too. That is why she calls.
But the rest of my friends are all busy doing their own things to call me up. But conversely I do not call my friends up either to ask them how they are doing.
So it is a two way street.

You make a good point in what you say above Fleurette.

This is so true fluerette! Even my eldest son. I know he's just busy working but would be nice to even get a text saying hello. I can relate though. Life is not easy for anyone these days. Having to work our butts off just to afford the essentials in life. It takes over a person's life and we forget our friends and families. How I deal with it is with understanding. Try to put myself in thier shoes and realize yes they are just busy and probably tired.

Further to your initial post Fleurette...
There are many definitions of friendship the main two close friends, who are usually with us through
thick and thin, by that I mean no matter what they there for us no matter the circumstances.
At the other end of the scale are 'fair weather friends' by that I mean...
Someone one who is willing to share your good fortune, fame and success but not your sorrow, failure or misfortune.
Sadly (in my opinion), there are more of the latter, than those who I consider true friends, in terms of allegiance when it comes to emotional support in the time of crucial need.

I apologise sincerely, for not earlier expressing my condolence re you mothers passing Fleurette.
The only mitigating circumstances I can offer is that I was ignorant of the fact of such a substantial loss to you and your family, until a day or so ago.
Sad News Indeed!

You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Fleurette I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Are you coping okay? You are such a kind and sweet lady! You're always concerned about everyone else. You are a beautiful person.
Michelle your avatar looks exactly how I feel, sad and sick. I can't even get out of bed to play my guitar. If anything would put a fire under my butt it would be my guitar but I just can't! I haven't had the strength or energy to play since last Friday and it's breaking my heart!

The title of this thread of yours...
'Everyone is busy with their own lives.'
Got me to thinking you must now be in that category Fleurette.
Noticing you have not been logged in for quite some time.

Ps., I trust that is the case more so than feeling down and as a result procrastination?
If the latter be the case, please try to motivate yourself sufficiently to let us know, and let us try our best to help you.. if that be at all possible!
