Rang the local fire service re replacing a defunct fire alarm
and ended up with a health check up. lol
Once replaced i was asked for some personal details being of a certain age.
It was observed I walked with a stick to support my mobility.
Explained, I occasionally fell, this set in motion a visit to a fall clinic two weeks later.
And spent an hour and a half having my vitals checked by a nurse then next door to a physiotherapist
and then into another room for an examination with a physician... specialising in treating falls.
and now referred for follow ups with an orthopaedic surgeon and twelve week exercise course combined with a possible
decrease in some of the meds I take for my heart condition.
Not that's what I call service for you within our national health service and may I add all free of charge...
Whether you are rich poor or somewhere in between..
Which is all what our health service here in the UK is all about.

and equally important, is their a charge for same

We have citizens here in the UK
who complain because they have waited in the ER waiting room for an hour or two
then present themselves as having no more than a hang over... aa a consequence of over imbibing...
and other trivial stuff.
The thing is like I suppose most hospitals wherever they are located in whatever country
have in place a triage service in place prioritising there place in the queue for medical attention.
And that's how it should be... what say you?

HERE takes weeks to get appointment and only blacks Mexicans or brown people get good treatment i think

PS., There is no discrimination as far as I am aware of here in the UK
Patients are dealt with according to priority by that I mean in terms of
what they present the Doctor with and the urgency of treatment required.

Sadly this sort of inhumanity is abundant , all over the world, whether one is gay, straight, skin colour ... sometimes just the way you look or speak to someone can trigger enormous consequences. |
