There are compound people who live in gated communities and work for the corporation.

Then there are the masses or pleebs who live in cities. People have poor jobs and just get by. They are not part of the privileged corporation and may even have illegal jobs.

Pleebs is taken from the word plebian

Hi Hercules,


I have decided not to finish the Year of the Flood.  It is getting too difficult for me to understand.  I hope you can forgive me as I know you have brought two books just to read with me.  If afterwards, you still want to continue our book club by reading Stones From the River and the books that you select after that, I am willing to continue too.


If you decide that you want to stop our book club because of my not being able to finish this book.  I understand your choice too.


I just hope you won't stop being my online friend because of this.
