I won’t read that link as I don’t want to become germ phobic.
My father washes his hands twenty times per day.

The site is for kids...germaphobia is not allowed... youtu.be/V7LUOFKEShU If you notice in the link...dobirdshaveknees...a bit of a tip off.
Cleaning your hands is crucial...if you touch your mouth, nose, or eyes. Subconscious habits can make us vulnerable to infection.

I agree with Keith that taking regular hygiene precautions is very necessary
but not the extent that your Dad does Hercules.
Cheers to you both for your feedback!

I think I have become much more aware and uncomfortable about germs than I used to be. I wash my hands a lot, also, and probably use hand sanitizer about 8 or 10 times a day most days.
Public restrooms are the worst, obviously. Sometimes I just have to stand there and figure out how I'm gonna get out of the restroom without touching anything.
I hate it when restaurants and stores have those hand dryers mounted on the wall and no paper towels in sight. I usually grab the door handle with a paper towel to get myself out without having the heebie-jeebies.
Aw and chicken! Cooking chicken at home!!!! I saw a show on tv once that somehow black-lit the germs left behind by raw chicken after a person had washed and put some chicken pieces in a pot to cook. Seems like they sprayed those kitchen surfaces with some kind of chemical that made the bacteria glow. You wouldn't have believed your eyes. The sink and countertop lit up like neon lights. It was well and truly grotesque.
Now I'm just weird about cooking chicken at home, too.

Since reading the first article I shared as an introduction to this topic on germs...
I've become somewhat taken over by same...
in that every day, in fact more than once and sometimes more than thrice...
I am using clothes sprayed with disinfectant to rub down door handles, my staircase banisters
and kitchen cupboards and the like, any where I or others might touch going around the house.
Along with handling bank notes etcetera.. and the resultant contamination from such hands on where other hands have been. that may be considered unhygienic, such as using the bathroom and not using the likes of soap and water after defecating.... and other potential germ ridden pursuits.

PS., I got to thinking is this what auto suggestions is all about
by that I mean you read or someone tells you about something
and it kicks in whereby you feel the need psychological speaking
to 'follow suit' as in the card game poker,or the likes?
Just a thought!

Public escalators, the hand rail. Public phones. Public restrooms. Nasty.
We have an immune system. I don't worry about germs at all. My biggest concern in my life are my panic attacks. I would rather bath in germs then have a panic attack.

Panic attacks although distressing
are unlikely to kill you whereas germs can and do on a regular basis.
That is a medical fact according to the World Health Orginisation.
