I would say don't be so confident to myself at 17. I thought I could conquer the world or at least succeed in life. My advice to myself at that age is don't be over confident.
What about you?

Don't force yourself into a situation, no matter how badly you want to be a part of it, if you are a bad fit and it is not designed for you. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time then very bad things can happen to you. tl'dr version don't fly close to the sun.

I would tell my 17-year-old self that dont drink too much. If you do , it could make a lot of troubles.

Get away from people who make you feel bad about yourself. That would be my advice to myself.

What advice would you give your 17 year old self?
Very little if anything... for I firmly believe the only way to learn is from personal experience .
Nothing else has as much long term significance.

PS., Learning from another may provide expedience...
but definitely not the same as personal experience..
even though as you say revisiting one's earlier self
for by the definition of time means we have become many different people in incremental stages as we age.

PS., Just my opinion of course and in no way
stopping me from liking your and everyone else's contribution here...
for I found them all of a positive nature!
