I am in the same position as you on that one...
However I am a God parent three times over
and I helped bring up up two boys,
Nathan and Oliver from aged two and four
because of the natural Father suicide and their mother's alcoholism
until they came of age to look after themselves.
and that very makes up for not having kids of my own.

My spontaneity in them coming in from school Friday and me with the car all packed saying we are off to some interesting place for the weekend sans Dad...life was an adventure before my illness became full blown.
