Ok, guys
Yes, What I posted yesterday sounds like politics. In this way we may end up in an unpleasant debate and that is not our goal to start our dialogue. Thank you Hercules for reminding me.Also, because we all have some mental illness, it may be difficult for us to have a normal cross culture dialogue. But I would stick to the dialouge between us. At the same time, you are not the targets of my verbal attacking.
Thank you for your tolerance.

Very well. Our "cross cultural" dialogue can continue. Nicely handled.
I have been very impressed by your country's construction of the Three Gorges Dam Walter. The engineering feat is remarkable but the material commitment for this monument to sustainable (hydro-electric) energy is even more stunning.
My country (Trump) just dumped our commitment to the environment. We're going to start burning coal again so he can repay the miners who voted for him. This is incredibly stupid. Again, I don't see my statement as political....just a general commentary on human folly.
Spring is here. I saw a rain soaked Robin today. BTW, I haven't used any medication or therapy for two years. I was misdiagnosed as Bipolar when, in reality, I was suffering from a temporary condition of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) which I've overcome. I quit smoking the same day I quit the meds...my life has dramatically improved as have my perceptions. I no longer consider myself as "mentally ill"....just Piscean.

Keith
Spring is here too and it is geting warmer and warmer here. You mentioned the Three Gorges Dam before. I have not been to the Dam and I just hear of the Dam by TV news. I am on medications and I can hold a job and talk with people normally with meds.
AS for the environmental issue, the smog in north China is serious and the pollution is caused by burning coal in North China. Because Chinese capital BeiJing locates in North China, Our government call on not to burn coal.
I heard of that there are lot of asian carps in U.S.A. Do you always catch asian carps to stop the invading.

Yes, Asian Carp are an invasive species destroying the habitat of all other fish in our southern rivers. The Lamprey Eel is causing big problems in our great lakes. The more interconnected our world becomes, the more vulnerable we all are to outside plants or animals that upset our normal environment. The same might apply to people as well.
Yes, I have mentioned the dam before. I reintroduced the subject to contrast the right and wrong ways to react to our energy problems and global warming. We have excess supplies of natural gas which is much cleaner than coal but now, through stupidity, we'll use dirty coal again. We have four more years of stupidity.
This next weekend, we'll have warm and sunny conditions. I need to get outside and begin rebuilding my muscles after a long winter of physical stagnation. It gets harder every year to snap back.

Keith
I don't think the coal is dirty, because the chemist could deal with the emiting products of the coal burning and make it clean. In China, we have lot of power plant to burn coal. You can burn coal and at the same time, you have to have innovation in the environmental protection technologies.
The exhaust gas of engines also can pollutes the air because there are lots of carbon dioxide and HN which can make the globe warmer.

China pretty much has to use coal due to the lack of petroleum and natural gas. We, on the other hand, have vast reserves of both which are cleaner than coal...and cheaper. Solar should be the first choice of everyone...it's the most effective means of stopping pollution.
Our mutual global environment may finally drive us to cooperate when nothing else will. The question is; will we reach that point in time to prevent the collapse of Earth's natural ability to heal itself. I'm pessimistic.
Greed and stupidity...that's what's keeping us all in danger.

Yes, China has no much petroleum as U.S. has and China has to import a large number of petroleum from Russia and other countries, so in China the cost of using vehicle is higher that in U.S.
You seem to pay much attention on environment and energy and that is a global issue connected with everyone. I have read a book by the name of The Sun , The Genome and The Internet written by the famous physicist Dyson Freeman. He introduces that in the 21st century, Solar energy, and Genome and Internet are our basic and main living means.

"...in the 21st century, Solar energy, and Genome and Internet are our basic and main living means."
Yes, if we can avoid wars. Solar energy accessibility is decentralizing our utility industries here...more and more homes go "off grid" as we begin providing our own independent energy. This is just one facet of an exponentially expanding technological base that is open to all through the internet which is indeed...the future. Genomics will give us immunity to disease and potential immortality. It will also use genetic engineering and physical adaptation allowing humans to breathe Martian air...or water.
I keep mentioning Alvin Toffler and his book; "Future Shock" written in 1970. Toffler defines the term as a certain psychological state of individuals and entire societies to ultra rapid technological growth. His shortest definition for the term is a personal perception of "too much change in too short a period of time". The pace of change has only increased since then and we were not keeping up socially...then the internet emerged offering a possibility of transcending age old barriers to communication and enlightenment. The contest is on as we speak...can we reach each other before we blow everything to hell? Can we evolve?

If I happen to find Alvin's book, I will read it. I always think that we can avoid war in the future and if we could change unclear aircraft carrier into unclear Cargo Ship, our global trade would be much cheaper and easier.

Well said Walter. I'll check out Dyson Freeman. And yes...we can hope.

Sorry, there are some mistakes in my spelling. Nuclear Aircraft Carrier Or Nuclear Cargo ship.
My English is not good, so I try to express myself clearly.
In the Near future, I think the artificial Inteligence will make progress and maybe can indusrialized.
Keith, Thank you for your tolerance.

You do just fine Walter. I would never dream of learning Mandarin.
In your other thread: sweeping tombs...honoring ancestors...I admire that. We are distinctly lacking respect for ancestors and elders in our culture. Without tradition...families split apart. I hope your mother and father have a good visit.

Thank you Keith for your bet wishes. In my city Shenyang, which is the capital city of Liaoning Province, the local government set up Free Trade Zones, which have been approved by Chinese central Government, to boost local Economy. Now, I support my country and the government's policy to open up to the world. thediplomat.com/2014/01/xinhua-china-approves-12-more-free-trade-zones/
