I watched the entire video...soothing. I was a bit taken aback when they rushed past Alpha Centauri A...our nearest star. It is our nearest star but they failed to mention that the system has three stars. Only recently, science has discovered exoplanets orbiting one and possibly all of them...and so close. Four light years is doable with present technology...if we're willing to wait 3,600 years to get there.
Then again, I'm not naive enough to believe that our present technology reflects our secret technologies. History suggests that research alone always has a real time edge...the Manhattan Project for instance. By now, currently operating ion/fusion drives are long obsolete...but, we may already have the capability of reaching A. C. A. within a lifetime.
All governments are loath to reveal their secrets...especially the American government. Anything we discover/develop and use is ripped off by spies...England, France, Russia, and China had the H bomb within a few years of it's testing. The first nation to produce a practical method of interstellar travel will lead humanity into the future. I suspect that somewhere an underground facility houses a machine that could push us to the stars. It won't be used till a large scale mission can be launched before publicly acknowledged. Money drives all research...money will demand that it dictate the passenger list. Survival of the richest.
I base my projections on the fact that technological development has been exponentially growing for 30 years...and that greed is the greatest motivator.

Thanks for your replies, very insightful Keith, I agree the government is probably doing projects we don't know about but I guess they have to keep it secret from the public and especially other countries to win the new space race. "All warfare is based on deception" Sun Tzu I'll write more later, just wanted to post this for now NASA - Tour of the moon www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iSZMv64wuUwww.mars-one.com

I like the space stuff too. It is about new discoverys in outer space and new planets like earth in habitable zone.
