Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if you all think having cancer is worst or your own mental illness is worst. I had a cancer scare recently but turns out to be nothing. Got me to thinking, I think suffering from chemotherapy and radiation is worst then my mental illness. At least we don't need surgery to remove a tumour and we don't have physical pain. People with chronic pain suffer so much. I suffer everyday from attacks a few times a day and my hope is lost sometimes but at times like this, I am glad to report that I do not have cancer.
Also I wonder if people would share how their mental illness effects them. Like what kind of symptoms do they have? We can discuss here how our mental illness effects us on a daily basis.

Thanks for your posts and involvement here. I don't want to either minimize or maximize anyone's suffering. Like for myself, I want accuracy, but only God can do that. If I know someone I can consider their suffering.

I really hope I don't get cancer and suffer like my dad did or my aunt, cancer is a horrible disease and they go through hell, we who are still young can only hope they find a cure for it. Seeing my aunt dying in the hospital the way she did when I was 12 is the most disturbing memory to me from my childhood. I wondered what kind of God would punish someone like that who in no way deserved it.
I have at times in my life wished I was dead but I sure wouldn't want to go out like that.
I've known people much more mentally ill than me, they have to live in a group home and they can't look after themselves. It helps me to deal with my problems and be glad I don't have it as bad as they do.

My husband of 30 yeArs said to me before he kicked me out "I wish you had cancer, people would understand and there would be an end to it"...trivia....I nursed him during his episode of cancer to full health....perhaps I should have taken his attitude and left when HE became sick but that is not in my nature.
When I was dx with scz....truly people treated me like I had the plague....it was evil.

Cancer worst?
I wouldn't like to prioritize Fleurette
For they are both highly relevant to the victim who has no or little choice in there delivery.

PS., To be landed with both, would be most unfortunate... as for a period of time you thought was going to be your fate.
I am so pleased that was not the case.
You must be highly relieved along with your family and friends the latter including everyone here!

Hi Fluerette,
Although mental illness is not a death sentence it can be just as devastating as other illness and cancer. Especially for those who are treatment resistant. I just wish the world would understand this and stop the stigma.
