I was aged seven when she came to the throne in 1952 after the death of her father King George the sixth, She served our country loyally for seventy years. She was not only the sovereign monarch of the Uk , but the commonwealth also which comprises of Canada 🍁 New Zealand and Australia to mention but a few. There are many folk who are ani royality and prefer a President. The thing is Presidents come and go, a monarch remains constant, during their lifetime... despite the politics of different parties in power of the time. Hence the reason the UK has remained a stable country for so long! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk/the_queenwww.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2022/09/08/queen-elizabeth-ii-dead/

The late Noel Coward who was a close friend of the Queen mother once wrote...
I'm here for a short visit only,
And I'd rather be loved than hated.
Eternity may be lonely
When my body's disintegrated;
And that which is loosely termed my soul
Goes whizzing off through the infinite
By means of some vague remote control.
I'd like to think I was missed a bit.
That last sentence 'I'd like to think I was missed a bit'
does not apply to our late Queen,
for She will be missed big time by all
those who where exceedingly fond of her througout her reign!

PS., If we were a republic like most countries around the world, the head d state would be elected and not be handed down from generation to generation. as in the case of a monarchy system.
I do not disagree, for it would prove th be more democratic.
In saying that, I respect that each individual country has its own system.
and if it works for the majority of citizens that fine by me!

Hi, David
I think in your country's system, there is a type of feeling which is transparent and stable for your country and people.
In my country, a former chairman appoints the next chairman before the former one retires from his job.
Also, there are some advantages and disadvantages in every system.
