Abilify
Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic. It is primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.
Evidence for the effectiveness of the oral form is not that strong as many people dropped out of the trials of the medication before they were completed. Side effects include: neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia and high blood sugar in those with diabetes.

My son took abilify. He said he liked it because it did not make him feel tired. His favorite one was latuda he told me he did not even feel like he was taking an AP and that they both worked well for him. Everyone's body is different to how meds react on different people. How are you liking Abilify so far Mike? Or wait, I'm sorry you did not state that you were taking it so sorry if your not.

I guess it's the least worst of the antipsychotics I've been on. Besides the akathisia I'm taking Cogentin for it's not too bad I think I might have gained 10lbs since March but also have been eating more so increase in appetite too. I've been taking it since March once monthly injection.
What are you taking Chelle, and anybody else reading this? how would you rate it?

I am on 17mg of it in the morning and no restlessness. I lost a little bit of weight at the hospital but don't know how I can keep it off when eating regularly at home. I tried keeping track of all the calories I intake but that is not a good solution because the more you keep track the more you think about food and staying in the kitchen to cook or clean isn't very good so I take my old computer away from the food so the app I used is called Lose it. I would not recommend it for long term weight lost as yo yoing can be bad for our metabolism.
