I got to thinking just now, how you will be organizing, (if anything) over the Christmas period Michelle ?Hello David, I will be working on Christmas Eve on the graveyard shift. Getting off at 8 am but we have a ham we will cook. Hubby will be home so he will most likely cook it. We will make mashed potatoes, stuffing and vegetables with it. Then I have to be back into work at 10pm that night. This job makes things easy though because I am allowed to sleep as long as the client is sleeping. It's a good job for my age and health issues as in no lifting etc... What will you be doing? P.S. sorry for the delay in getting back to you as the email address I have hooked up to this account I hardly use anymore so I don't get the notifications. I just come here randomly to check in. I should put my new email for this site but don't know if possible to change that at this point. The one I gave you and herc when the site was temporarily closed is my current one though.

Hi Michelle,
I have nothing planned, just as well...
with the more severe 'lock down' now implemented here.
But I am OK with that, for I see it for the best.
Better safe than sorry!

I agree 100% David. Safety is more important and not only that is it is jesus birthday. A time for me to reflect in that. Not saying I don't love the family getting together because I do and I miss them. I just feel the chance is too great at the moment of catching this thing. Like they say things happen for a reason. Enjoy your Christmas holiday and I'm really happy to hear you are taking care if yourself and staying safe.

Wanted to report that Kaavan the elephant is doing wonderful!! He is living like an elephant should. They are now building his second phase enclosure which will be in part of the jungle and other elephants will be able to visit him there. He is so happy!! Doing lots of dust and mud baths. Holding trunks with neighboring lady elephants, playing with tire swings, tearing down tree limbs and just living the elephant dream ❤️❤️

Update on elephant: he is still doing very, very well and looks so happy and healthy. They are working in his jungle enclosure now which will be very large area in a jungle where other elephants will be able to come in and socialize with him more closely. Cher the singer is now working to try and get this poor monkey that is housed above department store for 30 years into a sanctuary. She is a big voice for animal's.

Hi Michelle,
I am so pleased to learn what you share here re Kaavan's welfare.
as I've said before now... it is my firm belief, that not until we show compassion to all of God's living creation can we possibly know peace ourselves!

This is so true David and some of the sanctuaries are saying because of covid it is affecting thier elephants. They are having to chain some of them because of short staff etc but not at the one where kavan is. These people who volunteer at these sanctuaries are literally angels on earth. I'm learning so much about elephants since learning about kavan. That you for your most true and sincere reply.

You bring up a valid point Michelle re the folk who care for the elephants in their charge; and how this pandemic has had a profound effect on animal welfare, who rely on humans for such care , who are grappling with the Covid crises!

Any more news on Kaavan's progress Michelle? Yes, he is thriving David. He's so cute and very healthy looking. They are currently building his jungle enclosure which will be very large. You can follow his progress on Facebook at Cambodia wildlife sanctuary. They post him daily. He's in his quarantine enclosure still right now while they are building his jungle. He is a most beautiful elephant. ❤️
